Xiaomi S4 Sport Watch unveiled With Advanced Features for Athletes
Xiaomi has introduced its latest premium smartwatch, the Xiaomi S4 Sport, during Lei Jun’s 2024 annual speech event. The standout feature of the Watch S4 Sport is its support for professional lactate threshold tests. This advanced capability allows users to monitor their aerobic endurance peak strength, aiding in the effective improvement of endurance levels through measured heart rate and pace training. This functionality is powered by a sports algorithm developed in collaboration with Suunto, a renowned watchmaker.
In addition to its fitness-focused features, the Watch S4 Sport offers comprehensive route navigation, supporting tracking returns, straight-line returns, and deviation reminders. The official images reveal that the smartwatch features a round dial, available in black and orange, with a clearly visible rotating crown on the right side of the case. This design underscores its positioning as a professional-grade smartwatch.
The Watch S4 Sport is priced at 2,000 Yuan (approximately $275 or €250), highlighting its premium status. The smartwatch boasts a titanium body and sapphire glass, ensuring durability and a sleek appearance. Users can choose from four types of straps: fluoroelastomer, silicone, braided, and titanium Milanese. The heart rate and blood-oxygen sensors on the back are also protected by sapphire glass, which enhances their durability and accuracy. Xiaomi claims that these sensors achieve an impressive 97.2% accuracy rate.
For diving enthusiasts, the Watch S4 Sport comes with EN13319 diving certification, allowing users to dive up to 40 meters (130 feet). The smartwatch also features offline map capabilities, made possible through eSIM support, enabling users to leave their phones at home while still accessing navigation features. Furthermore, NFC support allows the smartwatch to function as a car key, adding to its versatility.
The Watch S4 Sport is equipped with a 1.43-inch OLED display, offering a peak brightness of 2,200 nits for excellent outdoor readability. It also packs a substantial 586mAh battery, which Xiaomi advertises to provide up to 15 days of battery life. For comparison, the previous Watch S3 model featured a 486mAh battery.
