visionOS 2 Launched, Apple Vision Pro Global Launch Dates Announced
At the WWDC 2024 event, alongside revealing new features in the upcoming visionOS 2 update, Apple finally disclosed the global release dates for the Vision Pro, which has generated considerable anticipation worldwide.
Global Launch Schedule for Apple Vision Pro
The Apple Vision Pro is set to expand beyond the U.S., reaching several international markets. Starting on June 28, the Vision Pro will be available in China, Japan, and Singapore. Two weeks later, on July 12, it will launch in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, and the UK. Pricing has been set at £3,499 in the UK and AU$5,999 in Australia, which is notably higher than the expected conversion rates from U.S. pricing.
Exciting Features in visionOS 2
Apple also highlighted new features coming with the visionOS 2 update, enhancing the user experience with the Vision Pro. While these updates are impressive, they are not the major overhauls typically expected from a version 2.0 release, feeling more incremental akin to the monthly updates seen in Meta’s Horizon OS for the Meta Quest 3.
Spatial Photos Upgrade
One of the standout features is the introduction of spatial photos, which allows users to view images captured with their iPhone 15 Pro in a more immersive, realistic manner. The new feature utilizes machine learning to add depth to previously flat images, transforming them into lifelike memories.
