    Mobvoi’s Wear OS 3 update for its smartwatches now appears to be postponed until Q3 2023, leaving TicWatch owners waiting even longer for the upgrade.

    Mobvoi Lagging Behind Competitors

    While rival manufacturers, such as Samsung and Fossil, have already adapted to Wear OS 3, Mobvoi is still trailing behind. The company initially indicated to Wareable in 2021 that it would update its devices around the same time as its competitors, but those plans seem to have shifted.

    Focus on Other Projects

    According to the Mobvoi representative, the company has chosen to prioritize other projects over the Wear OS 3 update. This could potentially refer to the TicWatch Pro 5, a smartwatch teased last summer during Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5+ chipset launch and later leaked in renders and FCC filings.

    Anticipating Wear OS 3 Update with TicWatch Pro 5 Launch
