TCLtv Plus offers 350 New Free Streaming Channels for Roku

TCLtv Plus offers 350 New Free Streaming Channels for Roku

TCL has recently unveiled a significant upgrade for Roku device users and TCL TVs operating on the Roku OS. The company is replacing its existing TCL app with a brand-new app called TCLtv Plus, which grants access to more than 350 ad-supported streaming channels. This upgrade is a substantial addition for many users, as TCL has been collaborating with Roku for over a decade, resulting in millions of TVs powered by the Roku OS.

According to Mark Zhang, president of TCL North America, “Our partnership with Roku firmly establishes TCLtv Plus as a powerful force in the streaming ecosystem.” This statement underscores the strong alliance between TCL and Roku, and the significant impact of this new offering on the streaming landscape.

The channels available on TCLtv Plus are organized into various categories, making it easy for users to find content that suits their preferences. Categories include TCL Holiday, Local News, True Crime, Lifestyle & Reality, and more. The diverse selection features popular channels such as Court TV, Ice Road Truckers, Deal or No Deal, Saturday Night Live, and Murder She Wrote, among others. This extensive variety ensures that there is something for everyone, from classic TV shows to contemporary favorites.

One of the standout features of TCLtv Plus is its TCLtv+ Studio. This studio is spearheaded by former production executives and producers from major studios and networks, bringing a wealth of industry expertise to the platform. Launched in April of this year, the studio focuses on producing its own shows, heavily utilizing AI tools such as Midjourney. The studio’s first production, “the world’s first fully AI-generated film” titled Next Stop Paris, garnered widespread attention and criticism upon the release of its trailer. Viewers can judge the film for themselves, as the trailer is available online.

In addition to Next Stop Paris, TCLtv+ Studio is also set to release its first sci-fi short film, Message in a Bot. This new production will be available for streaming next week starting from July 22, 2024, and is currently accessible on YouTube.

The introduction of TCLtv Plus and its extensive array of free streaming channels is a significant enhancement for Roku and TCL TV users. This new app not only broadens the content available to viewers but also demonstrates TCL’s commitment to advancing the streaming experience.
