Huawei Watch Ultimate Launches with a Focus on Outdoor Activities

Huawei has unveiled its new flagship smartwatch, the Huawei Watch Ultimate, targeting the high-end market with premium materials, a large screen, and a focus on diving and outdoor activities. The device shares many similarities with the Apple Watch Ultra.

Premium Design and Materials for the Ultimate Experience

Huawei has used a ‘liquid metal’ case, a material known for its strength and lightweight properties found in aircraft and high-end Swiss watches. The watch’s bezel is ceramic, and the metal strap is made of titanium. The Huawei Watch Ultimate is available in two colors: Expedition Black and Voyage Blue.

Large Display and Impressive Battery Life

The 1.5-inch LTPO AMOLED screen has a 466 x 466 resolution, with a brightness of 1000 nits. The watch features a 530mAh battery capacity, offering a 14-day battery life with minimal features enabled and an estimated 8 days of heavy use.

Advanced Health Features and Focus on Adventure Sports

The Huawei Watch Ultimate includes ECG monitoring and arterial stiffness data. It also retains standard health tracking features such as stress, SpO2, heart rate, and sleep monitoring. The watch offers 140 sports profiles, with a particular focus on running, including built-in fitness and training programs, Running Ability Index, and recovery insights.

Emphasis on Diving and Hiking Features

The Watch Ultimate has impressive diving capabilities, with 10ATM, ISO 22810, and EN13319 water resistance standards, allowing it to dive more than 100m and be suitable for technical dives. Diving stats include depth, ascent, decompression, oxygen pressure, ascent curves, hover timers, and more.

Hiking and expeditions receive new features as well. Multiband GPS ensures accuracy, and the Expedition Mode allows users to add custom markers and retrace their steps if necessary. The watch also allows customization of battery modes for user convenience.

The Huawei Watch Ultimate supports third-party integrations with Strava, Komoot (for turn-by-turn navigation), and Runtastic. Additionally, the built-in barometer provides bad weather warnings, sunrise/sunset times, and altitude data.
