Huawei P60 Pro Debuts in China
Huawei has unveiled its newest flagship smartphone, the Huawei P60 Pro, in China, with anticipation for an international release later this year. The device boasts two standout features: an innovative camera design utilizing Huawei’s XMAGE Imagery technology for improved nighttime photography and satellite communication capabilities for sending and receiving texts even when mobile network signals are unavailable. The Rococo white variant of the phone features a distinctive “mother-of-pearl” style rear cover, ensuring each device is one-of-a-kind.
Impressive Display and Performance
The Huawei P60 Pro is equipped with a 6.67-inch OLED display that supports an adaptive 1-120Hz refresh rate, an FHD+ resolution (2700 x 1220), and a 300Hz touch sampling rate. The quad-curved glass design makes a comeback, with a single hole-punch at the top for the front-facing camera.
Powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, the device is 4G-only (in the Chinese release) and offers 256GB and 512GB storage options, with memory card support for up to an additional 256GB.
Advanced Camera System for Stunning Photography
The rear camera setup comprises a 48MP main camera, a 13MP ultrawide lens, and a 48MP telephoto lens with “night vision.” Huawei asserts that the device can receive an impressive amount of light input with an f/2.1 aperture and offers a 200x digital zoom range (3.5x optical). The industry’s “first super-concentrating multi-lens telephoto module” is employed in the camera system.

Powerful Battery and Rapid Charging
The P60 Pro is outfitted with a 4,815mAh battery, supporting 88W wired charging when used with an optional “super fast charging kit.” The handset also supports up to 50W wireless charging.
Additional Features and Pricing
The Huawei P60 Pro is IP68-rated for water and dust resistance, and its satellite messaging system offers two-way communication. The device comes pre-installed with Huawei’s Hongmeng OS 3.1.
The Rococo white colorway, along with feather sand purple, emerald, and feather sand black, is now available for pre-order in China. The 256GB model is priced at 6,988 yuan (approximately £830).
It remains unclear when the international version will be available in the UK and other markets. The Huawei P50 Pro took six months to roll out after its Chinese release, so it is hoped that the P60 Pro will be available sooner.
