AMD Ryzen 7800X3D Outperforms Intel’s Core i9-13900K
AMD Posts Impressive Official Benchmarks
AMD is set to release its Ryzen 7 7800X3D on April 6, 2023, and has already posted impressive official benchmarks. In direct comparison with Intel’s flagship Core i9-13900K processor, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D beats it by up to 24% in selected games.
Considering the 7800X3D’s price of $449 is lower than Intel’s $579 CPU, this is a significant advantage for AMD. However, as these benchmarks are AMD’s own, independent testing is needed to confirm the results.

AMD’s Official Benchmarks
Compared AMD’s official benchmarks include popular games like Rainbow Six Siege, Watch Dogs Legion, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Horizon Zero Dawn. When compared to the Intel Core i9-13900K, the 7800X3D outperformed it by an average of 20% in gaming, with Horizon Zero Dawn seeing the most significant win at 24%.
Other games, such as Red Dead Redemption, Total War: Three Kingdoms, and Rainbow Six Siege, saw wins of 23%, 18%, and 13%, respectively. H3: Comparing AMD’s Processors AMD also compared the Ryzen 7 7800X3D to its predecessor, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, and the higher-end Ryzen 7 7950X3D. The new CPU trounced the last-gen 5800X3D, with gains in the lower 20s across the board, and won by up to 30% in DOTA. In comparison to the 7950X3D, the 7800X3D was equal in Rainbow Six Siege but slower by 3%, with the 7950X3D costing $250 more.
Outlook for AMD
While independent benchmarks are needed to confirm the results, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D’s impressive performance could be a significant upset for Intel and a win for gamers. If AMD continues on its current trajectory, it may sway even die-hard Intel users. However, with Intel’s 14th Gen Core processors expected to release later this year, the competition is sure to heat up. Only time will tell who will come out on top.
